1900 Illustrated Price List of Watch Materials, Tools and Jewelers’ Supplies

Benj. Allen & Co. were wholesalers/retailers in Chicago, Illinois from the early 1870’s supplying watchmakers, jobbers, jewelers, retailers , and the general public across the United States with horological tools, and material, workspace furniture and display cases, building signage, watch movements, watch cases, factory replacement part for all brands and models of American watches and watch cases, and a broad range of jewelry, gems, and other gift items.

Seth Thomas Model 1 Watch Material

Model 1 and Model 3 are grouped together because Model 3 was the replacement for and based closely upon the design of Model 1. Model 3 serial numbers start where Model 1 serial numbers end. Model 1 was referred to as “First Series” and Model 3 was referred to as “Second Series”. Model 2 was referred to as “Third Series” and Model 4 as “Forth Series” [*1.d]. This catalog predates the No. 650 Seth Thomas Watch Material Catalog, October 1, 1904.

Seth Thomas Model 2, 3, and 4 Watch Material

Model 1 was referred to as “First Series” and Model 3 was referred to as “Second Series”. Model 2 was referred to as “Third Series” and Model 4 as “Forth Series” [*1.d]. Why Seth Thomas chose to name their Second Series movements Model 3 and their Third Series movements Model 2 is not known.
