Roy Ehrhardt reported in his Identification and Price Guide to American Pocket Watches, 1999 Edition that Tribune U.S.A. is a private label Trading Watch in Seth Thomas 18-sizeModel 12 and Model 13. The Pocket Watch Database reports that Seth Thomas manufactured the private label Tribune movements for F. M. Sproehnle & Co. of Chicago Illinois. The letterhead and message shown below that Sproehnle & Co. was doing business in Chicago as a “jobber” in 1901.

The article on the top-right appeared in the Jennings Daily News on Monday December 15, 1902, on page 8. The article on the bottom-center appeared in The Inter Ocean on Friday October 31, 1913, on page 6.
