Casper Henry Kenkel, lived with his wife Agnes and son in a residential over commercial building at 1302 Main Street. C. H. Kenkel was a jeweler in Cincinnati Ohio from 1862 (during the American Civil War) until his death in 1897. His son, Joseph H. Kenkel had also worked with him as Watchmaker. A 13 year old Clement Kenkel had also been an apprentice to a jeweler with C. H. Kenkel according to the 1870 U.S. Census. Joseph H. Kenkel continued to conduct the business at 1302 Main Street for a long time after his father’s death, according to the 1924 Cincinnati City Directory.
